Young Jeffrey’s Song of the Week is a Tribute to the Resurrection of Drive-In Movies [VIDEO]
The pandemic of 2020 pushed a lot of us into a smaller, simpler way of living, including the resurrection of drive-in movie theaters. Young Jeffrey took inspiration from a movie that featured a drive-in scene, Grease, for his new Song of the Week, 'Cheap Drive-In'.
Every Friday during Brooke & Jeffrey in the Morning, Jeff his Song of the Week. They're not exactly 'parodies', most of the time they're more of a tribute.
So, being in quarantine and learning to practice social distancing has changed the way we live. We've turned to things that make us feel more safe, like comfy clothes and comfort food.
And, while it seems like everyone has learning to bake their own bread, we've maybe grown nostalgic for the days you'd call your friend on a land line and get a busy signal, or the sound of a dial-up modem taking too long to connect when you're dying to connect over AIM.
Among those beloved past times is the drive-in movie theater. And because our options for viewing movies from anywhere but home has been limited lately (until just this week), drive-in movie theaters have been popping up everywhere from Walmart to church parking lots. Movie going has gone back to a time before megaplexes and surround sound that would blow your hair back.
So, instead of singing 'Grease Lightning' from the famed movie musical Grease, Young Jeffrey sings 'Cheap Drive-In', a tribute to the return of drive-in movies.
