Who says our metabolism has to get worse with age? The faster our metabolism, the more efficiently we are able to burn the food we eat. A slow, inefficient metabolism makes it much harder to lose weight.  While it is true that metabolism slows with age, the choices we make play a huge role in making sure our metabolism is working as effectively as possible.

Water needed for almost every bodily function, and it turns out it’s also one of the easiest ways to help our metabolism. Some studies show drinking water increases our metabolism by up to 25% for nearly an hour after drinking it. That means if you drink a few cups of water every hour, you will keep your metabolism at peak performance all day. Another way to boost metabolism, get a good nights’ sleep. If you want to maximize your metabolism, get 7 to 8 hours of sleep per night. It is also easier to resist snacking8 or overeating when we are rested.

One of my favorite way to boost metabolism is to work out with weights.  It helps to strengthen both your muscles and your bones.  Here 8 easy steps to help you boost your metabolism and stay in good shape as long as you possibly can.
