Love To Dance? Just Don’t Call It Exercise (WATCH THIS LOCAL ZUMBA CLASS)
We know being active is great for us, but we all don’t have to fall into the same box when it comes to getting fit. If jogging or weight lifting is not your thing and the word "exercise" makes you cringe, then you might want to hit the dance floor. Check out this video of a Zumba class at Tilton Fitness in Galloway.Dancing can be a way to stay fit for people of all ages, shapes and sizes. Ballet dancing, jazz, ballroom, line dancing and hip-hop are just a few of the many forms of dance that can get your feet moving and heart pumping.
The specific health benefits of dancing include improving the condition of your heart and lungs, increased muscular strength, endurance, better muscle tone and strength, and greater self-confidence and self-esteem. Dancing offers physical as well as mental and social benefits and let’s face it, it is just plain fun. When the music is pumping and you are on the dance floor, you forget you are even, there’s that word again - "exercising."
So, to quote some popular song lines, "get up and boogie," "shake your groove thing," "get down tonight," because "you should be dancing!"
