We all know there are early birds and night owls.  If you are an early bird, you probably pop out of bed and get your day started right away. However, if you are like me, a night owl, there is a little less popping and a little more snooze button hitting. Morning grogginess can keep us from getting a headstart on our day.  However, waking up every day and resisting the urge to press snooze can really change the direction of our day.

For us night owls who want to learn to be a little better in the morning,  the  RISE UP method can help us get up, and get active and start our day in just 5 simple steps. It all starts with immediately getting out of bed as soon as you hear your alarm. Once you do that, the rest of the steps are easier to follow.  The RISE UP method is 5 simple steps to a better life:

    Resist hitting your snooze button. Once you do this, the hard part is over and now that you're up you can just start your day.

    Increase your physical activity. Go for a run, walk,  do an at-home workout, or visit your local gym. This gets your blood flowing and gets you ready to take on the day.

    Shower first things in the morning, and before you get out, blast yourself with cold water for a minute or two.

    Expose yourself to sunlight. Go for a walk or sit out on your front lawn. Any time in the sun will help and you’ll feel great.

    Listen to Upbeat music to get inspired and energized for your day and Phone a friend to activate your communication centers in your brain, or listen to some upbeat music to wake yourself up and make you feel good! Doing all these steps will help you live a better and more enjoyable life.
