I had a marathon of a day on Friday.

First I did my show, then drove to Cherry Hill to help the US Army and their blood drive.  Then I drove back an hour to take care of a few things here at the station.  After that, I headed to Dairy Queen to grab a quick milkshake, and then drove to Mays Landing where I would be judging a singing competition at Atlantic County Institute of Technology. I had been going since 3:15 that morning.

I was tired by the time I parked at ACIT, so I decided to lean my seat back and take a little snooze.  Right before I was about to fall asleep, I hear this loud banging noise on the roof of my car.  Like somebody is TRYING to wake me up.  It was two members of the ACIT security staff.

One security guy was looking at me from my drivers side window and said 'young man, you know this is a school right?'  Great, he thinks I'm drunk or on drugs.  I looked to my right, and there was another security guard ducking his head into my passenger side window and looking around.  I thought to myself, 'ohhhhhh no, he found my empty DQ cup, I'm so screwed.'.

Even though it took fifteen seconds to explain to the kind gentlemen who I was and what I was doing, it felt like ten minutes.  They eventually understood, and I went on my way to judge the singing competition.  I understand the security officers were just doing their jobs and probably thought I was drunk or high in my car and needed to pass out somewhere.

But, I really want my twenty minute nap back.

Big thanks to the teachers and students at ACIT who invited me to participate in their singing competition.  I had a lot of fun hanging out with the kids, as well as judging their performances.  Let's do it again soon!
