Lidl Food Market Close to Breaking Ground in Blackwood NJ
There's been some recent activity at the site of what's set to be a new Lidl Food Market in Blackwood, Camden County.
It looks like construction crews are clearing ground at the corner of Black Horse Pike and Lakeland Road, across from the Heritage convenience store, and fencing has gone up to block off the perimeter of the property, according to 42 Freeway. This Blackwood Lidl will reportedly be about 31,000 square feet.
It's been a long time coming since the Gloucester Twp. Planning Board approved the project a little over a year ago.
Lidl, a discount grocery chain similar to Aldi that originated in Germany, has been expanding in South Jersey for a while now. There are locations already open in Vineland, Glassboro, Cherry Hill, and Egg Harbor Township.
Just yesterday, there was a Lidl grand opening in Pompton Lakes up in Passaic County, NJ, reports NJ.com.
We have yet to see a timeline for when the Blackwood Lidl plans to open, but we'll keep you posted.
