Berlin-Cross Keys Road Construction in Gloucester Twp., NJ Finally Complete, Road Reopening
The conclusion of a road construction project in Gloucester Township, New Jersey deserves celebration after causing commuter headaches for weeks.
Why Was Berlin-Cross Keys Road in Sicklerville, NJ Closed for So Long?
A widening of Berlin-Cross Keys Road, which involved not only portions of Sicklerville in Gloucester Township but Pine Hill and Winslow Twp., resulted in several detours around the area.
For weeks drivers had to find clever ways of navigating the project which involved about a one and a quarter mile of roadway, starting in front of Camden County Technical School and stretching to the intersection of Turnersville Road.
Having grown up in that area of Gloucester Township, I can tell you that the work crews have done in widening the lanes on that section of Berlin-Cross Keys Rd. and adding a center turning lane will have been worth the getting caught in its construction. It was a much-needed improvement, in my opinion, even if it did cost the county almost $7 million.
