Former resident of the Masonic Children's Home in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania, leaves $10 million in her will for the children's home.

Late Dorothea Ilgen Shaffer, who passed away in 2012 at the age 101, left $10.9 million to the children's home in her will. Masonic's Children's Home was home to Dorothea and her brother in 1914 until she graduated high school.

Thanks to her donation, this provides five years of the home's operating budget which is amazing since the home operates solely based on donations. Up until this point, Dorothea had no involvement with the non-profit organization, and no one saw this large donation coming.

The Masonic Children's Home have now installed a plaque in Dorothea's memory.
