The 14-month old toddler run over by her mother's vehicle at their Egg Harbor home yesterday is recovering from her injuries as the police investigation into the accident continues.

The victim was reportedly airlifted by medical helicopter to an area hospital around 1:30 p.m. yesterday after she was backed over by her mother's car, according to NBC40.net.

The toddler was allegedly run over by her mother, 23-year-old Christina Rodriguez, as she was backing out of the driveway on Flatbush Avenue in EHT.

6abc.com reports that the child was trapped under the vehicle. Neighbors rushed over to lift the car and free the girl.

"It appears to be a tragic accident," said Lt. R. Gray of the Egg Harbor Twp. Police.

Investigators believe the girl was playing in a side yard when she ran behind the moving vehicle.

The girl was airlifted to Cooper University Hospital where she is said to have suffered 'moderate' injuries, but is expected to live.
