Toddler Reportedly Drowns While at Daycare in Millville

Parents drop their children off at daycare and hope they will be safe and properly looked after. But one family's worst nightmare came true today when a toddler reportedly drowned at a daycare facility in Millville.

Millville Police were called to Sunshine Daycare on Shar Lane Boulevard just before 11 a.m. Tuesday morning, after a 15-month-old boy fell into a small fishpond while in the care of his babysitter, NBC40.net reports.

The officers and an EMS crew attempted to revive the young child but could not bring him back to life.

The drowning remains under investigation, no criminal charges have been filed as this appears to be a case of negligence.

Authorities advised parents of other children who attend Sunshine Daycare to keep away until the investigation is complete.

No word if the daycare operated with all the proper licenses.
