Watch As Mullica Hill Man Records While A Tornado Destroys His Home
Hurricane Ida hit South Jersey this week in a big way.
Luckily, Atlantic and Cape May Counties were pretty much spared. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for South Jersey counties to the West. Parts of Salem, Gloucester, and Camden counties all had to take shelter as a tornado ripped through various towns on Wednesday night.
One of the towns most impacted by the tornado was Mullica Hill, a town within Harrison Township in Gloucester County. Neighborhoods were completely leveled as the funnel raged through the area during the area hours of Wednesday evening. It seems as though there were no fatalities as a result, so that's one silver lining, however, the devastation will take a while to repair, both material and mental.
One man decided to document the weather disaster, so he pressed record on his phone to take a video of exactly what he was experiencing as the tornado destroyed his home in Mullica Township. The video starts out with him shooting the funnel from his back deck as it made its way towards him. You see him make a run through his home towards his basement to take cover. Good thing he grabbed the dog.
What's crazy is how quickly the tornado comes and goes. The guy remains in his basement for maybe two and a half minutes. In less than five minutes, his house gets destroyed. After the tornado passes, he emerges from his basement to survey the aftermath. His neighborhood was devastated. WATCH:
At least neither him nor his dog were hurt. Keep all those who were impacted by the tornados this week in your thoughts and prayers.
