Go Walk and Dine Amongst The Dead In Wenonah, NJ, This October
Spooky season is officially here!
Before you fill your calendar up with your favorite Halloween haunted attractions, you might want to save room for one unique experience you may not have ever heard before.
Have you ever dined with the dead?
If you head up the Atlantic City Expressway and venture into Gloucester County, make your way to the sleepy town of Wenonah. It's there that you'll get to picnic with those that have already left us and crossed over into the beyond. Spooky, right?
The event is being held on Saturday, October 8th at the Wenonah Cemetery. Guests will enjoy live music, a children's scavenger hunt, and even get to learn a little bit about the history of the cemetery and some of the important figures who were laid to rest there.
Some important information to note before you go: first, if you're using your GPS to get there, the address is 390 Wenonah Avenue in Mantua. If you type in "Wenonah," it should automatically correct itself, but just in case, there's a good pro-tip for you so you don't get confused.
Secondly, it's BYOP - Bring Your Own Picnic. All who plan on attending will bring their own food, drinks, and blankets, and get ready for a day of fun and learning.
Now, the weather here in South Jersey hasn't exactly been the best over the last few days, so the Wenonah Historical Society did set a rain date for the following day, Sunday, October 9th.
