11-Year-Old Mullica Hill, NJ Girl Has Some Serious Skills on the Baseball Field
We're in awe of an 11-year-old female baseball player out of Mullica Hill, NJ, and it's not just because she's playing on a boys team. She's got some serious skills!
Her name is Zoe Wood, and she plays baseball for the Harrison Heat.
Zoe's been a ball player almost her whole life, 6abc.com reports, and she recently just hit two homeruns in a single game. Impressive!
As we mentioned, Zoe is a girl playing on an all-boys team. That's definitely something to be admired, but then there's the fact that she's doing it without fingers on her left hand.
Zoe was born without fully-formed digits on her left hand, but the way she catches and throws a baseball you'd hardly even notice.
Her dad, Jeff Wood, tells 6abc, "The way [Zoe's] been raised, we never really pointed it out. We just treated her like everyone else. We never let it get in her way at all."
So, how does Zoe acclimate to a sport that requires throwing and catching balls? Her dad says she switches her glove from one hand to the other to match the play action and she just makes it work!
Zoe's story just goes to show what you can accomplish when you put your mind and heart into something.
