Today Is Graduation Day for Toms River High School South

Congratulations to the Class of 2020. This morning is a big day for you, FINALLY.

I remember my high school graduation so well. It was a beautiful June night. I left my cap in my friend's car, so right before we were to take to the football field, I had to run to her car and grab it. That was a little stressful. Of course, it was me and my family wouldn't expect anything less. I was not late for the walk, just a little sweaty. But Graduation was a little different for the Class of 2020 this year.

You showed your resilience, your strength, your pride in your schools, and your patience. Finally, the Class of 2020 can be in their school colors, outside, and allowed a "social distancing" graduation.

Today Toms River High School South is celebrating their Class of 2020. Family can be there celebrating with you, while it might be a little different, it's the same like any other year..."YOU DID IT." You graduated, now the future begins. You've had ups and downs in your elementary, middle, and high school years, but you got through. We are all so proud of you. Who would have ever thought, this pandemic would hit, and graduations along with the ending of school would be closed. It's been a crazy year so far, but the year 2020 will be remembered and your graduating class will be, too.
