An alleged incident in the drive-thru lane at McDonald's in Atlantic City has lead to attempted murder charges being filed against a 15-year-old man.

According to Atlantic City Police, the scene broke-out around 3:30 last Saturday morning at McDonald's on Arkansas Avenue. They say their officers responded to a report of a fight with a man suffering from a stab wound to his neck. Upon their arrival, the stabbing victim was located and taken to ARMC-City with serious injuries; he is expected to survive.

Officers obtained a description of four males that were the aggressors involved in the fight that fled in a vehicle. Officers Sean McGettigan and Shawn Dansby located the vehicle and conducted a motor vehicle stop at Indiana and Marmora Avenue. The four males in the car were detained during the initial investigation.

During the investigation it was learned that the suspects attempted to pull their vehicle into the drive-thru lane by cutting off others already in line. The aggressors attempted to cut off the victim and his friend. Several males exited the vehicle and began to damage the victim’s car. The victims confronted the males and a fight began. As the fight broke up, the victim got back in his vehicle and one male approached the window with a knife in his hand. The male swung the knife striking the victim and then dropped the knife in the victim’s car.

The 15-year-old man was charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. He was remanded to Harborfields Detention Facility. The other males were released pending further investigation.
