We hope that this photo can be chalked up to an awful oversight, but the question is how do you right this wrong?

In the photo, the class is arranged in three rows, with the teacher standing on the left.

To the far right is 7-year-old son Miles. He’s leaning from his wheelchair, trying to be in the picture with his classmates.

Miles mother said Miles was diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy at 13 months, a genetic disease that attacks nerve cells in the spinal cord. This left him in a wheelchair.

Already, "fitting in" has not been easy for Miles and this photo certainly didn't help.

Miles father saw the photo first and immediately contacted the school and demanded that the photo be retaken. No comment has been made by the school. However, after posting the pic on the photo company's Facebook page, they agreed to take the shot again.

The second grader's father said:

This was not a malicious act, I don’t think it was done on purpose. I just don’t think there was any rational thinking behind it.

The parents have opted to not show their son the picture.
