South Jersey Boardwalk Bans Smoking
Another South Jersey town is added to the list of ones that ban smoking on the boardwalk.
Yesterday (Wed. 5/24) Wildwood voted to ban smoking on the boardwalk. The new law will take effect January 1, 2018.
Currently, smoking is prohibited Morey's Piers and Beachfront Water Parks.
Although the law will not be in effect during this summer season people will be asked to not smoke on the boardwalk this year.
Violators will face up to 90 days in jail or $1,000 fine.
North Wildwood will be holding a vote for a smoking ban next month.
Other South Jersey towns that ban smoking on beaches include: Longport, Cape May Point, Ocean City, Surf City, Ship Bottom, and Beach Haven. Smoking is also prohibited in state parks and beaches.
