Three people have been seriously injured following a head-on crash in Gloucester Township, New Jersey.

Police were reportedly called to the scene along Blenheim-Erial Road in Blackwood (between Church Street and Black Horse Pike) just before midnight on Tuesday.

2 Vehicle Head-On Crash Shuts Down Road in Blackwood, NJ, Occupant Trapped

Upon arrival, officers discovered two badly damaged vehicles, one of which was overturned. An occupant of the overturned vehicle was trapped inside, according to Patch.com.

First responders from 84 Blackwood Fire Company, Virtua Paramedics, and Inspira Basic Life Support reportedly assisted in the rescue effort.

Their investigation determined the two vehicles hit each other head-on.

All three people involved in the accident were transported to area hospitals, all having sustained serious injuries.

Although this accident was determined to have happened head-on, Gloucester Township Police say they are still looking for witnesses who may have addition information to aid their investigation.
