Truck Overturns in Berlin, NJ, Spilling Sand and Fuel on Roadway
A serious accident happened in Berlin, New Jersey Tuesday morning involving a truck carrying sand.
The crash took place in the vicinity of the intersections of White Horse Pike and Route 73, according to police.
Sand Truck Overturns in Berlin, NJ, Driver Seriously Injured
A truck tipped on its side spilling sand onto the roadway as well as fuel. The driver was said to be seriously injured and was trapped in the vehicle for a time, Patch.com reports.
Hazmat was reportedly called to the accident scene to address the fuel spill.
Drivers were cautioned to avoid the area with ramps on and off both White Horse Pike and Route 73 near the crash site closed for a time while police and rescue responded.
They have since reopened, New Jersey Department of Transportation tells Patch.com.
The accident remains under investigation.
