Our 5 Favorite SoJO Moments of 2018
Whoa! Did 2018 fly by, or what? We've shared a lot of fun moments and experienced so much this year. Let's look back on our favorites!
Earlier in the year we welcomed Hard Rock Hotel & Casino to the boardwalk in Atlantic City. Prior to the Grand Opening, we were lucky enough to get an invite to view some of the music memorabilia at the Hard Rock vault in Orlando that would eventually call Hard Rock AC home.
Then, just a few weeks back, our good friend singer/songwriter Matt Nathanson surprised us with a visit and played some of his new music for SoJO listeners.
We can't WAIT to see what happens in 2019!
Meeting the New Miss America
Miss New York Nia Franklin's platform of advocating for education in urban communities and her poise propelled her to earning the title of 2019 Miss America. She became the first African-American woman to win the crown in more than 30 years.
Turning Our Heads Into Christmas Trees
Midday host Chelsea Corrine and afternoon host Heather DeLuca always find quirky ways of entertaining themselves, and there's almost nothing they won't try. But making Christmas tree-hive hairdos was their favorite experiment of the year.
Surprise SoJO Session w/Matt Nathanson
When Matt Nathanson he always brings the fun, and the stories! Matt played exclusively for SoJO fans at Hard Rock in Atlantic City in December, handed out cupcakes to some birthday girls, and dished on that time Taylor Swift stole his song lyrics.
Swimming with Sharks
Chelsea and Heather strapped on snorkel gear and wet suits and got into the shark tank at Adventure Aquarium in Camden! They also made friends with some very friendly stingrays.
Going Inside the Hard Rock Memorabilia Vault
Our top moment of the 2018 HAS to be from June when we were flown to Orlando, Florida to visit the Hard Rock memorabilia vault, home to THOUSANDS of items that used to belong to music's biggest artists. Heather DeLuca got to preview some of the pieces that now live in the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City, like Bruce Springsteen's Born In The U.S.A. Tour gear and a cheerleading uniform from Nirvana's 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' video.
