Ocean City Animal Shelter Offering Adoption Incentive
Ocean City's no-kill animal shelter announced this week they will offer prospective adopters a lifetime discount on veterinary expenses. Due to continuing tough economic times, the shelter is at capacity--filled with pets that need a loving home.
The shelter is currently housing 125 animals, and badly needs to free cages to accept more strays.
“Our goal is to increase adoptions as well as make it more affordable for pet owners to give their animals the exceptional medical care they deserve", said the society’s Executive Director Bill Hollingsworth.
Located on Shelter Road in Ocean City, the facility's assistant manager Kevin Fisher says of the move to assist in continued care expenses for its adopted animals:
“We never had the ability to do this before. We now have a full-service medical clinic. For the life of the animal, you get a 10 percent discount, over and above our already low rates,” Fischer tells the Press of Atlantic City.
