It's not that I'm lazy. I found out that you can not only order your groceries online, but have it delivered to you!  So, of course, I had to check this out for myself.

First, I downloaded the free ShopRite App to my iPhone. Once I opened the app, I had to figure out my surroundings.  Quite similar to shopping at a new store, I had to discover where everything was.

Every item was in it's proper category, and once I figured how to pick and choose my items, things got a lot simpler.  The only error I made (and this is quite funny) was buying fruit.  The fruit was fresh when I picked up my groceries; the only problem was the amount of fruit I ordered.  On the app, apples were xxx dollars per pound, and you would choose how many apples you wanted.  I was thinking that the app was asking me how many POUNDS of apples I was requesting, so naturally I chose '1 pound'.  So of course I was surprised to see ONE APPLE in my grocery bag.  The same thing happened with the bananas, thinking I was buying ONE bushel, I ended up buying ONE BANANA.

Once I finished my shopping, the app then tracked down the closest ShopRite location that either delivered, or was available for pickup.  I won't lie, I was pretty tempted to try the delivery option, but I went ahead and decided to pick up my groceries.

I live in Atlantic City, and my ShopRite app told me that the store in Marmora was the closest location for pickup.  Hmmm, that's a longer trip than I was hoping for to get groceries.  Little did I know, I could have gone back to 'locations' and scrolled through all the stores that either delivered or had a pick-up option.  Yes, I could have picked up my groceries in Absecon instead of Marmora.  Oh well.

The ShopRite staff in Marmora were excellent.  They knew exactly what I ordered, put the groceries in the trunk of car, and even gave me a dozen roses for being a 'first-time online customer'.  When I opened my trunk, the lady with my groceries saw my 'Free Hugs' signs with SoJO logos all over them.  (Yes, I still have the free hugs banners in my car).  She immediately asked 'Are you Tom Morgan??!!'  Cover blown.  Retreat, retreat, thanks for the roses.

All in all, this was a wonderful experience.  While some of my co-workers may thing I'm lazy for buying my groceries online, I find it to be a huge time saver.  Sure I had to drive all the way to Marmora, but at least I know how to navigate a ShopRite website.
