Local Man Arrested for 7th DUI Says He Swerved for Elephant on Road [VIDEO]

Everybody knows that I-295 is a real danger due to the overwhelming amount of elephants...

Just ask Samuel Phillips of New Castle, DE.

Sam was arrested and charged with another DUI, and for not having insurance when he crashed his 1998 Land Rover Friday night.  When he got out of the car, he admitted to the police that he was swerving around an elephant.

Hey, if you're going to get your 7th DUI, there's no better better way than to be pulled over for swerving around an elephant.

According to investigators, he acknowledged that he smoke marijuana and dipped in PCP before he drove—nice.

You could have just burrowed through the elephant you know.

I wonder if the elephant was pink......
