Space tourism is a multi-billion dollar industry, and Atlantic City International Airport may want a piece of the action.

New Jersey state lawmakers are mounting an inquiry into launching commercial spacecrafts from the Atlantic City International Airport, according to Press of Atlantic City.

Reportedly, a commission is being put together likelihood of the airport "successfully pursuing, and economically maintaining" a launch pad for space aircraft.

A bill introduced recently by several state senators cited the federal Commercial Space Launch Act of 1984 which "encourages, promotes, and facilitates" the growth of commercial space launches.
