Clinging jellyfish have found their way into New Jersey back bay waters, and are now multiplying.

This isn't a reason to be alarmed beach-goers!

According to the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, these jellyfish are being found only in interior rivers, not the beach. 6abc News says they were first spotted along Monmouth Beach, and may have arrived by ship.

Because clinging jellyfish prefer back bay waters, the ocean water is safe to swim in!

There is still cause for concern since the clinging jellyfish decided to arrive during the summer, when people are bound to get in the water and be stung.

So, if you plan to swim in the back bay waters, be mindful of these jellyfish!

On 6abc, Dr. Bologna says if you feel a sting, and the pain continues to escalate, seek medical attention immediately. The sting can in some cases lead to kidney failure.

Otherwise, say hello to these jellyfish, because they aren't going anywhere!
