Bomb Squad Called for Hazard at the Jersey Shore

A very scary situation took place yesterday on a beach block in Ocean City.....

It seems that their was a smoke device or some type of firework in a car located on 36th street and Central Avenue.

Residents and visitors on the beach at that particular location were forced to evacuate.  Later, the bomb was detonated on the beach.  A resident took video, in which you can hear 'fire in the hole' from emergency workers along with an explosion of sand.

According to NBC 40, 'As of 8:45 p.m. Tuesday, a sergeant with the Ocean City Police Department says there is no threat to the public, and that police are continuing their investigation into the situation.'
