Lots of people have built grand hotels and casinos in Atlantic City but few can say they helped to bring one crashing down to earth.

As we previously reported, the former Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino will be imploded at the end of January and for the right amount of money, you could be the person that presses the button that brings it down.

The good news is, it's all being done as a way to raise money for the Boys & Girls Club of Atlantic City.

As of Thursday morning, bidding officially opened. The bidding page says in part,

This donation will help to sustain programs that serve over 2,500 youth in Atlantic City. The Boys & Girls Club of Atlantic City has remained open throughout the pandemic, distributing food to families, serving over 150 warm dinners every night, operating summer camp and extending hours to full day care, providing a space for children to attend school remotely, complete with meals, snacks, and educational support. The winning bid will help sustain and grow this organization’s work to prepare Club Kids for a future full of opportunities, revitalizing Atlantic City and building a brighter tomorrow. Don’t miss this opportunity to help propel Atlantic City into the future by supporting its most important resource: its kids.

As of this writing, 10 bids had been submitted with the latest being $7,250. Bidding remains open though mid-January.
