’90s Kids – This is New Jersey’s Favorite ’90s Sitcom
Let's be honest with each other here, the '90s had the best sitcoms. Go ahead, try to disagree. Actually, don't because you can't. The 90s gave us most of the shows that you binge-watch on Netflix while falling asleep every night.
The cable provider DISH recently published a study determining each state's favorite 90's sitcom. How did they come to their conclusions? According to the article, "[They] found the top 15 sitcoms from the 1990s according to Ranker.com, then analyzed Google search volume from 2004 to the present to find out what show each state is searching for."
Here are the 15 sitcoms that made the list:
- Saved by the Bell
- That '70s Show (I honestly didn't know that the show started in the '90s.)
- Friends
- Frasier
- The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air
- Boy Meets World
- Full House
- Home Improvement
- The Simpsons
- 3rd Rock from the Sun
- Roseanne
- Everybody Loves Raymond
- Sabrina, the Teenage Witch
- The King of Queens
- The Nanny
Geographically, New Jersey's favorite makes sense. New Jersey's favorite '90s sitcom according to DISH is The King of Queens. The Kevin James sitcom ranked number one in New York, New Jersey, and oddly enough Missouri.
Not so shocking, Friends was the overall favorite with 12 states including Hawaii, Texas, Vermont, and Iowa. There was a three-way tie for the last place, Boy Meets World, Roseanne, and Full House only had one state each. There was a two-way tie for second place between The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and Saved by the Bell both claimed 6 states each.
Ironically, while The Fresh Prince was from "West Philadelphia," Pennsylvania likes Full House better.
