Two teenagers are facing robbery and assault charges in Hamilton Township after they attempted to rob a person who responded to an on-line ad for an iPhone.

Hamilton Township Police responded to Knights Bridge Way around 3:00 Monday afternoon for the report of a robbery. According to a press release, the victims stated that they had responded to an online ad and were meeting to purchase an iPhone. An investigation revealed that the victims met with three people -- 18-year-old Shelton Ward of Atlantic City, an unnamed 17-year-old from Mays Landing, and an unidentified female -- and during the purchase the three suspects attempted to forcefully take the victim's money. Cops say the suspects fled on foot after the incident and two were located in a nearby woods.

Their investigation also revealed that there was an additional incident earlier in the day near the same location on Knights Bridge Way involving the same three suspects, but that victim has not yet reported the incident.

Ward and the 17-year-old male were charged with two counts of robbery, two counts of conspiracy to commit robbery, and one count of simple assault.
