12-Year-Old Ocean County Girl Battling Cancer Meets Gordon Ramsay [VIDEO]
This week world-famous chef and television host Gordon Ramsay was spending time in Toms River for his show Gordon Ramsay's 24 Hours to Hell and Back. During this time one girl's wish made its way around social media.
Kallista Flores is a 12-year-old fighter, who has been fighting B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia since the spring of 2018. In an article from our sister station 94.3 The Point,
...Kallista has had a terrible journey throughout her treatment. Her doctors all refer to her as the 1% kid, meaning everything and anything that can go wrong does for her. Steroids caused her to have diabetes and she became insulin dependent. She also suddenly formed a blood clot in her left arm and she had to be given Lovenox shots daily. She formed allergies to her 24 blood and 12 platelet transfusions as well as Erwinia and Pegaspargase.
Kallista had one wish during her fight, the meet Gordon Ramsay. Sometimes social media isn't all bad because it enabled the 12-year-old to meet her hero.
Gordon Ramsay took a break from filming to make her dreams come true. Kallista was in for a surprise because after she left her music class, Gordon Ramsay was there to meet her.
Gordon brought Kallista some treats from a New Jersey bakery, Confections of a Rock$tar in Asbury Park.
Not only did Gordon make her dreams come true by meeting her, but he also donated over $10,000 to her GoFundMe hitting the family's goal. Plus, he plans on making her dinner.
