Cooper Hospital Lets Kids Drive Mini-Luxury Cars to Surgery
When you're a kid and you're sick, it's truly a bummer. But, when you're a kid sick enough to require surgery, it can be terrifying. So, one South Jersey hospital found a way to make the experience less scary.
This seems to be a trend catching on across the nation, and I think it's so brilliant: Letting kids drive themselves to surgery in a tiny luxury vehicle!
When I was 7, a nasty bout with pneumonia landed me in the hospital for a week. I didn't require surgery, but I did have multiple wheelchair and gurney trips to radiology and the blood drawing lab. And I know that if they had given me a toy car to drive there, I would have cried less.
Kudos to Cooper University Health Care for implementing this, and Cherry Hill Imports Auto Group for donating them.
