It was certainly a night filled with tears, smiles, and prayers in Vineland last night....

Students, parents, and other members of the community came together outside of Vineland High School North to remember 14-year-old Alexa Strittmatter, who was hit twice crossing Main Street heading for her bus stop on Wednesday morning.

According to The Press of Atlantic City, 'Sunday’s memorial was organized by Shelby Watts, who was Alexa’s friend since grammar school.

During the service, Alexa’s friends played some of her favorite songs. Pictures of Alexa were shown on the wall of the school, something that caused many people to smile for a few minutes. The service ended with the release of colored balloons, including purple and green, which friends said were Alexa’s favorite colors.

The accident is still under investigation.
