Toilet Seat Up or Down?

Mike can't decide if he should leave the seat up or put the seat down, when he's completed the standing objective of his bathroom visit.

We have a number of single seat, co-ed bathrooms at the radio station complex.  The majority of people who are working in the morning are men, but then the number is offset later in the day by the women in the office who come in.

He has heard that it is etiquette to "leave it as you used it" is a good rule of thumb, especially if the majority of users are men.
