Delaware lawmakers have some important matters to attend to before ending their legislative session this week.

Things along the lines of passing spending bills for the fiscal year, and considering a redistricting plan for Wilmington.

But, another bill that needs to be taken care of?

A vote on a bill to name the golden retriever as Delaware's official state dog!

NBC10 says, the bill creates a steady case why the golden retriever is the best candidate. The bill includes details like its intelligence, friendliness, its love for hunting and its ability to be trained for search and rescue work.

The downfall is, it's only for a year! So if you live in Delaware and are not happy with the decision, you can make a case for the dog of your choice!

Now i have to ask the question for my New Jersey people: what should be our state dog hmmm?
