The Best and Worst of the Golden Globes Red Carpet
I've got a list a mile long of all the stars who got style right on last night's Golden Globe Awards red carpet. Unfortunately, the list of stars who paid a lot of people to look as bad as they did is also lengthy. It was hard, but I managed to narrow down my best and worst dressed.
BEST DRESSES:
HEIDI KLUM
It seems most of the red carpet turned to Atelier Versace to give them the 'wow' moment they were looking for, and Heidi in this fire-engine red stunner was no exception!
JESSICA CHASTAIN
The Globe-nominated actress also chose Atelier Versace. This coppery stunner hugged Jess' curves in all the right places, and she was worthy of the Old Hollywood comparisons. She's simply one of the world's most beautiful women.
JENNIFER LOPEZ
Can she just stop please? JLo is nearly 45! But here she is again setting the standard in this killer Zuhair Murad.
SIENNA MILLER
I absolutely loved the intricate pattern/bead work on Sienna's Miu Miu gown. It was one of the night's most interesting dresses, and her hair and makeup were perfection.
AMY ADAMS
Amy was another Versace gal last night. This shade of periwinkle/grey really flattered her skin tone, even though it's more muted. The draping is EVERYTHING.
A TALE OF 3 KATES:
KATE BECKINSALE
With stylist Rachel Zoe's help, Kate never chooses poorly. This pale grey Elie Saab gown is the perfect mix of edge and class.
KATHERINE HEIGL
Kate said Zac Posen knows how to dress women of her 'size'. But there's nothing large about her in this curve hugging navy mermaid gown.
KATE HUDSON
Jaw dropping are the only two words that come to mind! Kate is wearing this Versace like a champ. It's a breathless red carpet moment.
WORST DRESSES:
RUTH WILSON
Uck. Uck uck uck. I don't care if she won the Globe for The Affair. There are multiple people who stood around and told Ruth this shade of Oscar the Grouch-green was flattering. It's heinous, and this is how she spent the most important night of her career. I don't know who designed this gown, but they should be fired.
KEIRA KNIGHTLEY
She's pregnant, so I find it hard to pick on Keira. But this Chanel gown took 30 people to craft. It took 30 sets of hands to make her look this bad. Pilgrim meets Little House on the Prairie.
KATE MARA
This Miu Miu gown would have been passable had some stylist not looked at it and said, 'Ya know, this needs a really inappropriate flesh tone wide belt'. Epic fail. Ruined the whole look.
JEMIMA KIRKE
Just wondering why no one told the Girls star she was going to the Golden Globes and not a party on Saturn.
BIGGEST RISK TAKER:
ROSAMUND PIKE
The Gone Girl nominee gave birth just 5 weeks ago, and stepped out in this UH-mazing Vera Wang gown, barely held together by the thin straps that criss-crossed the back. Bravo Rosamund!
