Bitter cold temperatures are something that we become accustomed to living in New Jersey, but what you may not think about is how much help your local animal shelter may need this time of year.

Check out our list of just some of the furry friends that need homes this holiday season.

The Cumberland County SPCA animal impound/shelter plans to close a the end of 2017, citing a "perfect storm" of issues they say have left them without funding to continue.

New Jersey authorities have rescued about 100 cats inside a condominium covered in feces, urine and garbage.

A cat is currently recovering after being shot with a crossbow and arrow in New Jersey.

Atlantic County SPCA has reached out to us with a desperate plea.  They recently rescued an 8-month old puppy on the brink of death.  She was living in a basement in Pleasantville, allegedly being starved to death. She is currently at Red Bank Animal Hospital, with a $2,500 vet bill (and rising). Can you help save Hope?

It's been a very busy kitten season for the Cumberland County SPCA.  The shelter has run out of dry kitten food supplies and they're asking for your donations to help feed these hungry little ones.

**Great news!  All the homeless pets at the Sayerville shelter have gotten homes!  For another worthwhile adoption cause, visit Little Miracles Rabbit Rescue in Atco, N.J..  They've got some bunnies that also need your help! Donation funds for Sayerville Animal Rescue Center in New Jersey dried up after Hurricane Sandy.  Close to one hundred animals may be destroyed at the end of the month if adop
