Update on Vineland Forest Fire

If you smell smoke or see a hazy sky in South Jersey, it could be because of the Wildfire burning near Vineland in Cumberland County.

At one point over the weekend, smoke from a South Jersey forest fire could be seen on weather radar, making its way from the Wharton State Forest to the coast of South Jersey.

It's been weeks since most of South Jersey has had any measurable rainfall, allowing more wildfires to break out in our area.

There's a reason we're still occasionally smelling smoke in Atlantic County and other areas of South Jersey.

The New Jersey Forest Fire Service says a fire has been burning in the Wharton State Forest, near Tabernacle, New Jersey.

The Stafford Forge Wildlife Management Area, in Little Egg Harbor Township burned throughout the day. The fire, which was fanned by gusting winds throughout the day, has consumed over 400 acres.

A large forest fire has erupted in Pemberton (Burlington County) late Monday night.

Heroic First Responders battled a blaze over the weekend in Southern Ocean County. Firefighters from towns around the State responded to this fire that burned approximately 1,000 acres in Little Egg Harbor.
