Students Injured in Toms River School Bus Crash
Two students on the bus home from Toms River Intermediate School were taken to a local medical center after the bus collided with a vehicle on Old Freehold Road today.
The accident happened just before 2 p.m. at the intersection of Old Freehold Road and Imperato Court when the bus rear-ended a dark-colored 2004 Pontiac Sunfire.
Two students had injuries requiring a trip to Community Medical Center. Their injuries are minor, according to authorities. The driver of the Pontiac and two passengers also sustained minor injuries needing medical attention.
Old Freehold Road is now reopened.
18 other students also on the bus were transported away from the scene by an alternate school bus.
Toms River Police continue to investigate the accident.
