7-Year-Old Sister of Boy Killed in Maple Shade, NJ Apartment Fire Has Also Died
In yet another heartbreaking turn of events following a recent fire at an apartment complex in Maple Shade, a second child has reportedly died as a result of the blaze.
7-year-old Hope Marles has been in a hospital since May 7th fighting for her life after her family's unit at Fox Meadow Apartments went up in flames.
Barely two weeks later, the little girl has succumbed to her injuries.
Her older brother A.J., 12, died the night of the fire. Their children's mother Shannon, 35, remains hospitalized but is reported to be in stable condition, according to 6abc.com, her world now turned upside down with the loss of both of her children.
Six people were hurt by the blaze and 22 families were displaced.
According to 6abc reporter Beccah Hendrickson, the Marles family was instrumental in uncovering a multitude of violations at Fox Meadow. Their investigation went public resulting in a Troubleshooters report that aired on Action News.
