An Atlantic City man was arrested twice within several hours after police say he continually returned to the Atlantic City Convention Center and, in one of his visits, he allegedly assaulted a security guard.

Authorities in Atlantic City say around 8:30 Wednesday night, officers responded to the Convention Center for a man that was trespassing and had damaged property. A New Jersey Transit police officer arrested 34-year-old Jalil Ceaser of Atlantic City and he was turned over to the ACPD. Ceaser was criminally charged and released on a summons at 1:25 Thursday morning.

According to police, less than 40 minutes later, Ceaser returned to the Convention Center, he approached an on-duty security guard, struck him in the face with an object, then fled. The guard, a 57-year-old man, was taken to ARMC-City with a serious injury to his eye.

At around 3:30AM, officers responded, again, to the Convention Center after Ceaser returned and, again, damaged property. Arriving officers found Ceaser holding a large piece of wood. He surrendered to a police K9 and was taken into custody without incident.

Ceaser has been charged with aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, criminal mischief, and defiant trespass. He was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
