Pre-Teen Facing Several Charges for Threatening Maple Shade NJ High School
A 12-year-old boy is in big trouble after allegedly being the culprit of terroristic threats made against Maple Shade High School last week.
The pre-teen, who has not been identified due to his age, reportedly got snagged by authorities through his activity on social media, according to 6abc.com.
Police are investigating whether anyone else may have been involved in the plan to threaten violence against the institution.
In the meantime, the boy who has been charged has some explaining to do. He's officially been accused of making terroristic threats, causing false public alarm and cyber harassment, all very serious allegations.
The threats against Maple Shade High School come in relatively the same time frame as a school shooting at Michigan's Oxford High, which took the lives of four students, and the nine year anniversary of the Sandy Hook Massacre where 26 people were killed, including 20 children.
Burlington County Prosecutor's Office reminds the public to stay vigilant regarding potential threats, and if you see something, say something.
