It looks like New Jersey's favorite bear that walked on two legs, may possibly be dead. He may have been one of over 400 bears killed in the annual New Jersey bear hunt.

According to the New York Times (must be a slow news week) and MANY other news outlets, an animal activist claims that Pedals was killed by a bow and arrow hunter. Official sources (whatever that may be) have not officially confirmed the death of Pedals the bear. So, there may still be hope.
