On The Marc: Inside South Jersey [8/3 – 8/5]

Hey SoJO1049.com readers!  Hope everyone has had an EPIC week.  I am still living off the thrill of my Hot Air Balloon ride!  You don't get to pick want balloon you fly in but we lucked out and got quite a distinctive one... A GIANT STRAWBERRY! LOL

After seeing all the balloons, I think only one other was just as fun: A Dark Vadar balloon. Although he did not get as high or thrilling of a ride as our Giant Strawberry! You can see all the pictures here!

Well, I will be spending this weekend relaxing in Miami on South Beach, but for all of those who are staying in South Jersey this weekend, there is plenty to do.

Now, I kinda just mentioned Miami to sound cool, but if you're looking to relax at the beach... I'd like to remind everyone that South Jersey has some of the best beaches in the country! My pick (of course) is Altantic City, because of the Casinos, beach bars and proximity, but Wildwood has been voted "Best  Family Beach", "Best Events Beach", "Best Sports Beach" & "Best Singles Beach"... Did I mention, they are free???

After you're done beaching yourself, stroll down the boards to catch Jimmy Buffett.  That's right, Buffett's back.  Buffett & his Coral Reefer Band are bringing their "Lounging at the Lagoon Tour"  to Boardwalk Hall on Saturday (Aug. 4th).

Jimmy also announced with Governor Christie earlier last week that he will be opening a Margaritaville in Resorts Casino Hotel!

If you are a surfer or like to think you can surf, you might wanna check out the Ocean City boardwalk this weekend.  The "12^th Annual Art of Surfing" will be at the Ocean City Music Pier.  Hours are: Thurs. 7pm – 10pm, Fri. & Sat. 12noon – 10pm. It is a FREE family event featuring original art from surfing's biggest names, live music, and a chance to meet artists from across the country!

Also on the O.C. boardwalk this weekend is the 50^th Annual Boardwalk Art Show, billed as as "ideal place to buy fine artwork at reasonable prices"... I personally don't think of a sandy boardwalk when wanting to purchase fine art, but then again, I do have an IKEA "original" in my guest bath...

When you've had enough sun and you're ready get the sand out of your shoes, check out one of many shows happening this weekend!  Besides Jimmy Buffett, Donnie & Marie are stirring up quite a buzz here in A.C. when their show kicked off this past Tuesday.

While I never really was a huge fan, I am sad to miss this show as they are show biz legends!  Catch Donnie & Marie at Caesars Atlantic City till Sunday.  Other hot tickets this weekend include:
