Officer Responding to Motorcycle Crash, Hit By Another Driver on Route 47
After responding to a motorcycle crash on Route 47, a Middle Township officer was hit by someone driving under the influence.
Nj.com says, the incident happened on Route 47 near Sixth Street on the Rio Grande section.
While the officer was tending to the motorcycle crash between two men (one taken to Atlanitcare Medical Center, the other charged for reckless driving), the officer's car was parked on the northbound side of Route 47.
Unfortunately, another driver crashed right into the officer's cruiser and injuring the officer. The Middle Township officer was sent to Cape Regional Center in Cape May Courthouse and only suffered neck and back pain.
As per the driver, he's being charged with reckless driving, driving under the influence, and other traffic offenses.
When will people learn to NOT drive under the influence?? This could have had even worse outcome. Thankfully, it didn't.
