The FDA has approved a new treatment that reduces hair lost for those who experienced hair loss during chemotherapy.

Undergoing chemotherapy is a physically and emotionally brutal experience for anyone. As a result to the treatment, hair loss is a common effect which can be a devastating change. The FDA has approved the Dignitata DigniCap Cooling System, which is a snug fitting silicone cap that circulates cool liquid to the scalp and reduces blood flow. The reduction of blood flow means less chemo reaches the hair cells. Another cap is placed over the silicone one to keep everything in place.

Now that its FDA approved, Dignitata is beginning the process to offer the scalp cooling systems to breast cancer patients.
