New South Jersey Area Code

South Jersey has been approved for a new area code!

In addition to 609 and 856, Atlantic, Cape May and Southern Ocean Counties will have the new area code of 640.

Yep, 640.

The new area code will not affect anyone with a current phone number, but only those who will get a new phone number in the future; most likely starting next year.

People everywhere do have a strong connection to their area code. It is a sign of where you are from.
