Miss America Officially Moves Headquarters Back to Atlantic City
Miss America celebrated the beautiful bond of it's humble beginnings at Boardwalk Hall today for the opening of the new Miss America office. Savvy Shields, Miss America 2017, cut the ribbon to tie together the long time partnership between Atlantic City and the pageant.
Speakers at the event included the Miss America organization's Chief Operating Officer, Josh Randle. He said, "People know Miss America and they know that Miss America is in Atlantic City...and, boy, are we glad to have our offices right here in historic Boardwalk Hall."
The Mayor of Atlantic City, Mayor Guardian, spoke as well about his stance on Miss America's national offices being in his city. "Certainly a good day for Atlantic City. We love our Miss America, and we love the Miss America pageant and all of the funds they provide for women continuing education. We are very proud of that fact. It's great to have them right here," he said.
Sam Haskell, the Executive Chairman and CEO of the Miss America organization, is happy to be back where it all started: "While I was not a part of the organization when she left Atlantic City, I'm very proud to have been a part of bringing her home."
After Mr. Haskell spoke, Miss America 2017, Savvy Shields, took the podium to say how much she loves Atlantic City and what it means for her to have the organizations headquarters here. "Selfishly speaking, every time I come to Atlantic City and to Boardwalk Hall is a very emotional and nostalgic moment for me," she said.
