Miss America’s President and CEO Steps Down
Regina Hopper, the President and CEO of the Miss America organization instrumental in pulling the swimsuit category of the competition, is leaving her position.
Hopper, who tried to help bring a new vibe to Miss America in recent years, plans to return to a full-time job in transportation.
The organization's Board Chairwoman Shantel Krebs will replace Hopper for the time being while the search a new president and CEO gets underway, according to 6abc.com.
Hopper succeeded former Fox News analyst Gretchen Carlson (a former Miss America) as president and CEO in May 2018 after an email scandal in December 2017 led to the dismissal of the mostly-male leaders of Miss America's.
The Miss America competition left Atlantic City in 2019. Camille Schrier was crowned Miss America 2020 last December in Shreveport, Louisiana.
