Two teenagers were critically injured last night when their vehicle hit a tree.

 

The 19-year old male and 17-year old female from Little Egg Harbor Township were trapped in the wreckage.  The vehicle hit the tree at high speed on Giffordtown Road at 6:15PM yesterday evening.  The names of the teenagers were not released, according to Police.

 

According to The Press of Atlantic CIty, 'The driver was pinned up against a tree and he had to be extricated from the vehicle with the assistance of the fire department and the Jaws of Life.  The driver and passenger were flown by helicopter to the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, and the crash is currently being investigated.
