Local Fixture in the Process of Being Demolished

On a cloudy, dreary day, demolition began on another South Jersey fixture.

The first phase of the demolition of the Somers Point side of Beesley's Point Bridge has begun.

The south side of the bridge, in Upper Township, will be demolished in the fall.

All of this is in preparation for the construction of the Great Egg Harbor Bridge, which should be completed by 2016.
